social dance as an enjoyable physical
activity, expanding future choices of
healthy lifestyles.

behavioural examples of tolerance and

in groups and teams.
- The dances incorporate game-like
activities that motivate children to
master a variety of motor skills such
as side step, skip, thread the needle,
balancing, etc.

movement ostinati, dance moves.

as subtraction and multiplication
during the dances.

history, introducing ideas like
dreamtime and migration.
- the countries of origin of dances
which can be located on a world
map.
- words and songs in LOTE (Languages
other than English).
- appreciation of Australia's
cultural diversity.
